Challenge
NICMAR required transforming conventional training spaces into a modern, engaging learning ecosystem. The design needed to support different learning formats, such as lectures, discussions, and collaboration, while maintaining consistency across multiple floors. Enhancing engagement without distracting from learning, ensuring functionality with high seating density, and optimizing classroom space for effective utilization added to the complexity.

Flipspaces adopted a layered learning environment strategy to address the diverse functional requirements across floors. The design approach focused on creating distinct yet interconnected zones of classrooms for structured learning with clean sightlines, tutorial rooms for flexible interactive formats, and spill-over zones as informal collaboration hubs. Geometric acoustic panels were integrated to create a visual identity while improving sound quality, and a neutral base palette with accent colors was used to differentiate zones while maintaining visual cohesion across the multi-floor facility.
