A Living Ecosystem of Innovation NPCI partnered with Flipspaces to design a workspace inspired by a tree metaphor, reflecting growth, connectivity, and stability in alignment with the organisation's role in India's digital infrastructure. The multi-floor office spans the 26th to 28th floors, creating a living ecosystem that balances functionality with strong brand storytelling.

Challenge
NPCI required a workspace that reflects its core values of innovation, trust, and growth while supporting large teams with flexibility. The design needed to encourage collaboration across departments and balance functionality with strong brand storytelling.
Approach
Flipspaces translated the tree concept into spatial planning- roots representing strong foundational spaces and core zones, trunk symbolising central circulation and stability, branches expanding into work zones and collaboration areas, and leaves embodying people, creativity, and innovation. Spatial strategies included non-linear pathways to encourage movement and interaction, scooped-out collaborative pockets, semi-private niches for focused discussions, and biophilic elements with earthy materials such as wood, greens, and textures.
Solution
The design introduces a dynamic workspace ecosystem rooted in the tree metaphor. Non-linear pathways encourage movement and spontaneous interaction across floors, while scooped-out collaborative pockets and semi-private niches provide flexibility for both team discussions and focused work. Biophilic elements with earthy materials- wood, greens, and textures- bring warmth and connect the space to nature. Work cafés and breakout zones serve as central collaboration hubs, fostering cross-departmental engagement.
Impact
The result is a dynamic, human-centric workplace ecosystem that has increased collaboration through thoughtful spatial planning. The design achieves strong alignment with NPCI's identity and values, creating a balanced environment that supports productivity, innovation, and employee well-being across the multi-floor facility.
